Chairperson
Marla Curran, DrPH, is a dedicated advocate and leader within the Democratic community, with a strong background in public health spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Chair of the Woolwich Township Democrat Club, Marla brings her strategic acumen and diverse scientific knowledge to the forefront of leading the party’s efforts to promote Democratic values, elect Democratic candidates, and advance progressive policies at the local level. Her focus is on guiding the day-to-day operations and priorities in line with the broader goals of the Democratic Party, managing volunteers, coordinating events, campaign coordination, fundraising, and grassroots activism.

As Head of Biostatistics and Data Science for a nonprofit biotechnology company, Marla provides invaluable leadership in executing the scientific functions she oversees, aligning with her commitment to social justice and public health. Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Marla honed her expertise through leadership roles in large and small life science companies. Her educational background includes a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), an M.S. in Biostatistics from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a B.S. in Statistics from North Carolina State University.
